Oh hello dear reader! As Summer is slowly making way for Fall, I find myself sitting here at my desk with a sweet little baby boy on my lap, wrapped in a blankie my grandmother made years ago for my sister. I listen to his sweet soft breaths and realize that my heart is so full, it almost hurts.
We asked photographer Traci White to capture those first moments of our new family of three and I'm so very grateful for what she did. I never want these beautiful first weeks to end, yet I am so curious to see our little boy grow up. There's a lullaby by my favorite American children's troubadour Raffi that sums it all up:
So dream on, sweet dreams tonight
And we'll dream too a future clear and bright.
Dream on, soon you'll be standing strong and free
Oh blessed be our newborn babe.
I'll be back soon with a quinoa granola recipe, dear reader. Oh, and a recipe for honey oat cookies that are very good and tasty! That's a promise. For now I am sending you sweet greetings from the land of milk, lullabies, and cuddles.
